Metamorph Oasis by Mike Grotsky

I have come far enough
From where I was not before
To have seen things
Evaporate
My dreams faded and fled
My past really did go up in smoke
And still, little by little
I was becoming myself

Not who I thought I was
or who I might have been
But slowly skin by skin
time peeled away illusions
There’s death in that
Evolution too
everything moves past &
dissolves
Change sifting dreams
till the stars float by
so quiet and so final
And this loving murderous charge
Dances only in the eternal present
The most real of our animal illusions

The present is the vortex from which
We peer into our virtual realities
And dig up emotions and life itself
In the delicacies of memory
And the labyrinths of future
where we make love
And languorously ever-after
Trace the ripples to eternity

Love ripples the waters in us
Moving my smooth hand
over your field of skin
Then you and I go through changes
Together
And pleasure blooms joy
Right here on earth
